Social Media Assistant, Communications and PR Media Pitch Coordinator


We are seeking a creative individual to join our team as a Social Media Assistant with a focus on crafting and sending PR media and podcast pitches for an author aiming to build their brand and promote a newly released book. This role requires a strong understanding of social media platforms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly and independently. 


  1. Social Media Management:
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase the author’s online presence.
  • Generate creative and shareable content for social media platforms, aligning with the author’s brand and book messaging by repurposing existing content using tools like ChatGPt 4 and Opus.
  • Collaborate with the author to create a plan to develop content that resonates with the target audience and is SEO optimized. 
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance using relevant tools.
  • Create and revamp email sequences and sales funnels. 
  • Handle customer service requests 
  1. PR Media/Podcast/Speaking Pitching:
  • Research and identify podcasts relevant to the book’s genre and target audience and craft the custom pitch letter.
  • Create media pitches to secure interviews where the author is the expert in media requests. Help send cold pitches to journalists pitching stories featuring the author. 
  • Pitch podcasts for author to be a guest and help coordinate those interviews. 
  • Help research and craft pitches for corporate/event speaking. Coordinate bulk sales of book.


  • Strong written communication skills in conversational style and copy writing 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools (or ability to Google, watch a YouTube video and learn quickly).
  • Creative mindset and a passion for storytelling.

Extra credit:

  • Ability to craft compelling pitches
  • Familiarity with the publishing industry and understanding of book promotion strategies
  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation
  • Previous experience in social media management 
  • Media contacts (50-100) with track record of getting experts consistent national media placement
  • Track record of getting guests booked on podcasts (30-100k episode downloads)

Hours: 5-10 hours a week. Flexible. 

Pay: $20-$30 an hour based on extra credit qualifications. $40-$50 hr with all extra credit qualifications.
